What

is it?

Soil food, made by earthworms.

Vermicompost is an organic, nutrient-rich soil fertiliser and conditioner. It is produced by earthworms, such as red wigglers, breaking down cow dung, vegetable scraps, crop residue and bedding materials.

The result is dark, crumbly compost that improves the physical, chemical and biological quality of your soil, all from farm waste that would otherwise be thrown away.

to use it?

Mix a few handfuls into potting soil, or sprinkle on top and water in.

Work into beds before sowing, then top up through the season.

Spread in a ring around the root zone, mix lightly and water well.

Add during land preparation, or near the base of standing crops.
